Big Bear Weather


The trails should be in excellent condition for the 2nd annual Kodiak 100 Mile and 50 Mile races. We are expecting some rain throughout next week prior to race day. That being said, come prepared for a wide range of temps and weather conditions; the mountains are notorious for rapid changes in weather. Race Staff is looking for additional people to help at Aid Stations and Camps along the 50 Mile, and 100 Mile, course. If you have any interest in ultra running and endurance events in general, this is a great opportunity to see one up close, and to become part of the community that makes ultra endurance events possible! The 2014 Kodiak Race Instructions are now available! 2014 Kodiak Race Instruction We are approaching 1 week until race day, are you ready?! The weather in Big Bear Lake has started to cool with overnight temps dipping into the low 40's. Brrr. Daytime highs have remained in the mid 70's so be expected for a wide range of temps. Friday 8AM - Registration Open - Located in The Village at the Start/Finish. All athletes, and pacers,  must sign in prior to the athlete briefing. 50 milers can register until 5pm. 11AM - Athlete Briefing - Mandatory for 100 mile racers.
